Why am I billed twice?

When you joined the site you were offered and accepted a free two-day trial membership to a different site. You received two confirmation emails showing both memberships. Since you have contacted me within the two-day trial membership and I have canceled this membership you will not be billed for the second membership.

What you saw on your credit card statement is what’s called an “Authorization”. When you signup with a trial membership, our billing processor “reserves” a certain amount on your credit card and if you cancel your membership, the authorization is canceled and the amount is released. If you check back in a few days (up to two weeks), you will notice that the authorization is gone.

Please note that every Credit Card issuer displays transactions differently so it’s possible that authorizations appear like real charges on your credit card. If the authorization isn’t canceled in the next two weeks, please let us know and we’ll have our billing processor look into it.
